Not just a fence… our project receives funding from the KONE Foundation

Not just a fence: Disentangling the boundaries of order, logic, and control is a four-year research project, led by geographer professor Jusii P. Laine on the Karelian Institute at the University of Eastern Finland. The project explores the narratives and practices that underpin and challenge the process of bordering of Europe. We will pay special attention to the environmental impact of the phenomenon.

The project has received funding form Kone Foundation, a major private funding institution in academic research and art in Finland.
